Junior High Service Hour Requirements

By their deeds you will know them!  Service is the external expression of an internal belief and faith in Christ’s message to love God and to love your neighbor.  Students are required to see how they can help and serve others locally and globally as Christ did by participating in, and documenting the required number of hours per year as seen below. These hours must be preapproved, and a service hour form submitted to the student’s religion teacher in a timely manner. They may include, but are not limited to, St. Anthony events/projects and a variety of community service efforts.  Several opportunities for service hours will be provided throughout the year by our Youth Ministry Program and a list of some local not for profit/501c3 organizations may be found on our website.

Grade 6: 5 hours

Grade 7: 5 hours

Grade 8: 5 hours (10 additional hours will be required from 8th grade students in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation).

(Service projects are an integral part of the preparation for Confirmation in 8th grade.  Students are monitored in fulfilling this commitment to serve others.)

Service Hour forms are available on the school website, and should be turned in to the student’s religion teacher upon completion.  Christine Goyette is in charge of pre-approval and tracking of the service hours, any questions please contact her at youth.ministry@stanthonyftl.org.
