In 1926, Saint Anthony Catholic School opened its doors to become the first Catholic school in Broward County. There were sixty-four students who attended that first year.  The hopes, dreams, hard work and love of God exhibited by the Adrian Dominican Sisters who ran Saint Anthony Catholic School until 1982, are alive and well today.  During the 2016-2017 school year, we celebrated our 90th anniversary of serving the Catholic Community of Broward County.  We have over 430 students in grades PK-3 through 8th grade. We are so proud of our “heritage of excellence.”  In 1997, our original two-story Spanish style school building was designated a landmark by the National Register of Historic Places. Throughout its long history, our school has been blessed with generous parents, willing to sacrifice for their children’s Catholic education, talented and dedicated faculty and staff, and students eager to grow in wisdom and their Catholic faith. While we are grateful for these precious blessings, and for all that has been done on our behalf, in the end, we ask only that we be given the vision to continue to nourish this heritage so that our students will grow wisely, act justly, and do good. Our fervent prayer is that our students will always live lives worthy of their calling.

How well we live up to our heritage is found less in the words that we might say and more in the deeds of our students. Visitors to Saint Anthony Catholic School find noticeable civility and kindness, a welcoming attitude, a generosity of spirit, a commitment to service, a rich prayer life, an enduring commitment to excellence, and an authentic spirituality that transcends mere words. Whether at Morning Prayer, during the liturgical celebrations on Friday, or in walking the halls or sitting in the classrooms, you will see happy, reverent children actively engaged in learning and enjoying each other’s company. The children speak lovingly about their school and find joy in welcoming each day.

We extend an invitation to you to come to see who we are. Walk the halls, watch the children, listen to them, and see, firsthand, if the words match the deeds. Even on your first visit to Saint Anthony Catholic School, we believe that you will find something special here. If you do, we hope that you will join us for a most amazing journey.

God bless you and our school,

The Administration
